About Me

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Then, I moved to Flagstaff, Arizona where I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Northern Arizona University. During this time, I realized my passion for psychology and had the opportunity to gain fieldwork experience working on an assertive community treatment team serving individuals with various mental illness diagnoses. I stayed in Flagstaff to earn my master’s degree in psychological sciences at NAU, where I realized my passion for studying and treating trauma. While earning my degree, I worked with victims and witnesses of interpersonal crime. Following graduation, I continued to work in the mental health field as a case manager for individuals with various mental illnesses.  I moved to Illinois in 2020 to pursue a clinical psychology doctoral degree with a trauma focus at Northern Illinois University. I am currently in my fifth year of the program.

Therapeutic Approach

I take a collaborative approach to therapy. My goal is to make sure every client feels listened to and understood. I aim to make the therapy room one in which each client feels comfortable to be open and honest with me. I try to meet people where they are at and decide together what their goals for therapy are and the best way to reach them. I typically take a cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy but borrow from other approaches when appropriate. I use evidence-based treatments, meaning that these techniques have been tested and are shown to be effective at reducing psychological symptoms. My goal is for every client to feel like they have the tools they need to manage their concerns on their own once we finish treatment together.

I have experience in providing therapy for a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I also have experience working with children with anxiety. I primarily work with adults on an individual basis but am competenet in working with couples as well.
