About Me
With more than 20 years of nursing and advanced practice experience, Tricia Ward is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that integrates both physical and mental wellness. She began her healthcare career after earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and worked as a registered nurse on a medical-surgical unit at Centegra McHenry Hospital for eight years.
In 2011, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. Over the years, she gained valuable experience in a variety of clinical settings, including skilled nursing facilities, wound care management, and pediatric primary care. Through these experiences, she developed a strong passion for holistic healthcare and the connection between mental and physical health.
To further expand her expertise, she completed postgraduate studies at the University of St. Francis in 2018 and became board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2019. Her clinical background includes inpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization programs, psychotherapy groups, and outpatient mental health services, allowing her to provide comprehensive and individualized psychiatric care.
She provides psychiatric evaluations and treatment for adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and ADHD. She is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and strives to create a supportive, empathetic environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their care.
Born in Chicago and raised in the northwest suburbs, Tricia Ward enjoys spending time with her family outside of work. She enjoys reading, puzzles, word games, walking, and watching football with her family.
