About Me
I was raised in Lake Zurich, Illinois, and unlike many of my peers, I began my college journey uncertain about which academic path to pursue. Rather than rushing a decision, I allowed myself the time and space to explore my interests, ultimately discovering a deep and lasting passion for Psychology. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, where I also learned the value of stepping outside of my comfort zone.
During my time at St. Ambrose, I had the opportunity to intern at the Scott County Jail, where I facilitated group sessions with inmates. This experience solidified my interest in working with diverse populations and reinforced the rewarding nature of challenging work. After graduation, I served as a Program Coordinator at a residential treatment facility for young men who were juvenile sex offenders and wards of the state. These roles, while demanding, deepened my commitment to the fields of Psychology and Counseling.
Motivated to expand my impact, I pursued a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling with a certification in School Counseling at Roosevelt University in Schaumburg, IL. While in my Master’s program, my clinical work focused on the treatment of severe mental illness (Schizophrenia, Bipolar II Disorders, Dissociative Disorders, Major Depression, etc.) in community mental health. My journey came full circle when I returned to serve as a School Counselor at the high school I graduated from. Over the years, I have worked with individuals across a broad age range from Pre-K children to high school students, as well as young and middle-aged adults.
I firmly believe that everyone possesses the strengths and abilities necessary for success, and that it’s not only acceptable, but often essential to take time in discovering the path that aligns with your true self.
