About Me
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Northern Illinois University, with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. I later pursued nursing through Elmhurst University’s direct-entry accelerated program, where I earned my Master of Science in Nursing.
After completing nursing school, I began my career working in an inpatient psychiatric facility, where I cared for adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions. Beginning my career in an acute psychiatric setting provided invaluable experience and strengthened my commitment to helping individuals navigate complex mental health challenges with compassion, respect, and evidence-based care.
To further specialize in psychiatric treatment, I completed a post-master’s certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through Chamberlain University. My advanced clinical training included inpatient, outpatient, residential, individual, and group therapy settings, allowing me to gain experience across the full continuum of psychiatric care.
My philosophy of care is centered on collaboration, empathy, and whole-person treatment. I believe effective mental health care requires understanding the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence each individual’s well-being. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their experiences. By taking the time to listen and understand each person’s unique history, concerns, and goals, I work collaboratively to develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, supportive therapy, and coordination with other mental health professionals when appropriate. My goal is to help patients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and achieve lasting improvements in their mental health and overall quality of life.
