About Me

I am licensed in Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Prior to working with LivingRite, I provided outpatient therapeutic services to clients and their families within community mental health settings for 4 years. Prior to working in community mental health, I gained experience working with adolescents providing crisis services and providing professional development courses. I also gained experience working with older adults both in a hospice setting and in assisted living. Within these roles, I serviced patients and their families through providing support and education surrounding the needs of older adults with neurocognitive disorders.

My therapeutic approach comes from an integrative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused, and strengths-based therapy model. I provide individual therapeutic services to adolescents (age 14 and up), adults, and older adults. I also work with couples and am trained in Gottman Method Level 1 and 2. I utilize this method to work with couples to navigate conflict in a healthy way, identify shared meaning, and improve connection. My areas of clinical expertise include anxiety disorders, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, grief/loss concerns, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, interpersonal conflict, trauma, self-esteem issues, caretaker support, neurocognitive disorders (Alzheimer’s/dementia), co-occurring substance use concerns, parenting support, and postpartum/perinatal concerns.

I believe that therapy is most effective when therapeutic rapport is established between the client and the therapist. My treatment interventions are focused on collaboration, skill-building, and challenging maladaptive patterns of thought and behavior. I focus on creating a supportive, comfortable, honest, and compassionate environment and my interventions will be uniquely tailored to your needs.
